The pool is
half the job.
Most pool builders build the pool and stop at the edge of the deck. What’s left is a hole in an unfinished yard, a second contractor to hire, a grade that no longer works, and two companies pointing at each other when something doesn’t line up. The pool drives the schedule for the entire property—so it should be built by the team responsible for the entire property.

Gunite or fiberglass
Two good answers. The site narrows it fast.
Gunite can be any shape, any depth, any size, and can be built into a slope or a vanishing edge. It costs more and takes longer, and it is the right call when the pool is the architectural centerpiece of the property.
Fiberglass installs in a fraction of the time, has a smooth surface and lower long-term chemical and maintenance demand, and costs less—when one of the available shapes genuinely fits the design and the shell can be delivered to the site.
Access, slope, soil, water table, budget and how long you’re willing to have a construction site behind your home usually make the decision before preference does. We’ll walk you through both honestly, including when a pool isn’t the right investment for your property at all.

The pool is designed inside the full property plan—grade, decking, drainage, utilities and landscape together—then engineered, permitted and priced as one project.
Build the Pool
Excavation, steel, plumbing, shell, equipment and inspections run on our schedule with our crews and our subs, sequenced against the rest of the yard.
Finish the Environment
Decking, walls, structures, lighting, irrigation and planting close the project—then we walk the property, start the system up and show you how to run it.

We build pools as part of a complete outdoor project.
That is a deliberate choice, not a limitation. A pool dropped into an otherwise untouched yard creates the exact problems this page describes, so R2 takes pool work where we are also building the surround—the decking and hardscape, the walls and grade, the outdoor living areas and the planting and irrigation. Common questions

Do you build gunite or fiberglass pools?
Both. Gunite is formed on site and takes any shape, depth or feature; fiberglass arrives as a finished shell and installs far faster. Access, soil, grade and what you want the pool to do usually narrow the choice before preference enters it.
Do you build the landscape around the pool as well?
Yes, and that is the point. The decking, grading, drainage, walls and planting around a pool are most of the work and most of the cost. We build the pool and everything around it on one schedule, rather than leaving you to coordinate a pool contractor against a landscape contractor.
Can you add a pool to a property that is already landscaped?
Usually, though access for equipment and spoil removal is the first thing to check. It is worth knowing that retrofitting a pool normally means rebuilding a good deal of the surrounding landscape.
